Overview:
This essential and informative 1 day Ex induction course will become the foundation of your future career in the Ex Industry. This course provides all of the information you need to get started in this industry, plus you will get a detailed workbook of all of the content for future reference as your knowledge and Ex competence grows.
We’ve created the course that we wish existed when we started out.
Who should attend?
We have designed this programme especially for new starters in technical roles the Ex industry with little or no prior knowledge (technicians, engineers, quality engineers). This knowledge is essential for those working in Ex manufacturing, design and certification. This particular course is not well-suited for “non-technical” roles due to the technical nature of the content.
How will I benefit?
You will be able to understand the fundamentals of what makes the Ex industry different to other industries, and this will form a foundation for your growth and development.
The focus on explosion safety and understanding “why” things are a certain way, means you will start your Ex career with the right mindset and approach to problem solving. After the course you will be able to:
- Understand what the Ex industry is, and more about your role within it
- Understand the history of the Ex Industry
- Understand what a “hazardous area” is
- Understand the explosion properties of gases and dusts
- Understand the principles of how explosions are mitigated
- Understand the multiple Ex Types of Protection
- Understand what ATEX is, how it works and what it covers
- Understand what IECEx is, how it works and what it covers
- Understand and apply the “insightEx 6-steps” designed to break down the multitude of codes, zones, types, groups, categories, ratings etc. for new starters (a complicated subject, put into a simple to follow process)
Did you know – It is a requirement of the ATEX QAN and IECEx QAR audits for staff involved in the design, testing and inspection of Ex Equipment to have training in Ex General Principles? Lack of staff training can lead to an audit Non-Conformance!
